Government reverses decision to repeal payroll working reforms (IR35)

Government has reversed its decision to repeal payroll working reforms (IR35). Originally announced as part of the mini-budget, government made a ‘U-turn’ and Chancellor Jeremy Hunt recently confirmed the planned changes to IR35 will not be going ahead.

This is disappointing as AMI had hoped a repeal of IR35 would reduce the cost burden on firms. This means firms should continue adhering to the original IR35 changes, as summarised in this AMI newsflash from 2021.
