Dec 20 – Brexit
The UK’s Brexit withdrawal transition period ends on 31 December 2020 at 11pm. AMI has prepared a factsheet to highlight areas for member firms to consider ahead of this deadline. Firms who advise or have business with individuals or companies in European Economic Area countries should read this.
Ongoing Brexit negotiations are unlikely to address or fix any of the areas that impact retail financial service firms and risks are unlikely to be mitigated even if a deal is agreed. It is therefore important that firms prepare for a range of scenarios.
This factsheet is based on AMI’s interpretation and understanding of the implications of Brexit on member firms as of 8 December 2020. Firms should continue to monitor government and FCA updates to ensure they are kept up to date. We will continue to provide amended updates if required.
